The perinatal clinic at Kremlin-Bicêtre hospital

This project is the outcome of a photographic commission by the French architect Emmanuelle Colboc.

Emmanuelle, who designed the Kremlin-Bicêtre Maternity Centre located in the Parisian suburbs, wanted to adopt a different approach to classical aseptic architectural photography.

After exchanging with one another we concluded that architecture goes far beyond the material. What makes the soul of a building is also defined by the people who evolve within its walls.

Emmanuelle commissioned me (giving me an artistic carte blanche – a sort of residency) to produce a series of images inside the hospital that she had built, with the sole criteria to show her the life and activity emerging from the clinic.
